This painting was inspired by viewing photographs of rare deep sea fish, they look like creatures from another world. We need to protect our oceans from pollution and unsustainable fishing practices. It is in the sea that we find the biggest diversity of life, our oceans are the last sanctuary, with many of the deepest areas yet to be seen by man.

This painting was part of a series completed in 2004, and was inspired by summers in Taranaki, clear blue skies, the snowless mountain. I love to collect interesting empty bottles and old buttons, not to mention many shells picked up off the beach.

This painting was part of a series completed in 2004, and was inspired by summers in Taranaki, long days fishing, drinking wine and eating freshly caught Kahawai, particularly nice with a squeeze of freshly cut lemon picked from my own tree.

Please contact for details This is the last original available from a series, inspired by the very beautiful and ornate carved scroll work on the hand piece of a violin. My son played this instument for eight years, I listened to his tentative scratchy sounds and observed as his skill and confidence grew, all the while marvelling at what a wonderful piece of art the violin actually is.

This was one of a series inspired by a friend's greenhouses, she grew gerbera's commercially and the sight of all those flower heads was something to behold. Oranges, pinks, yellows, creams, reds all garishly mixed against the green foliage - just stunning.
I am available for portrait commissions, either from photograph or life, I am particularly fond of making finely detailed pencil sketches of babies, usually from a photograph and not as expensive as you might think.
