Stock items vary as each one has it's own personality. These little beauties are indeed 'UGLY'. The series was started after investigating species of deep sea fish. The most bazzar and interesting of creatures, many have evolved specialist means of surviving with the limited light available at extreme depths in the oceans.

Seaweed sculptures

“Seaweed Sculptures” High Fired Stoneware 350mm high.
This pair was from a series of sculptures completed in 2004. Inspired by the rock pools off the Taranaki coast, and from observing the fluid, organic shapes of seaweed, anenomes and sponges. They were glazed with high temperature blues and greens. This set is finished with a copper green glaze.
