I live in a little piece of paradise just on the outskirts of New Plymouth. I have always been a bit ‘Arty’, and have spent many years painting, drawing and doing crafty things. While raising a family has kept me very busy, I have always found the time to be creative. I have had no formal art training and am mostly self taught.
As an artist I find endless inspiration in the extremes of the Taranaki environment, particularly the fantastic beaches and the things found washed ashore. Also a keen tramper of the many bush walks of Aotearoa, I have developed a deep respect for the stillness and tranquility of the forest. As a member of the New Plymouth Potters Inc., I have been playing with clay on and off for about 20 years and produce wall tiles and sculptures depicting the flora and fauna of New Zealand. Keep an eye on my site early 2009 for a new page devoted to ceramic works. I have also dabbled in the production of works of a more commercial nature such as company logos, graphics, business cards, etc and more recently, illustrations for children's books. Hope you enjoy what you see, comments welcome.
